Maziar M. Kazemi
Assistant Professor of Finance, Arizona State, W. P. Carey School of Business
I am an assistant professor of finance at Arizona State University within the W.P. Carey School of Business. I joined ASU after completing my PhD in Financial Economics at MIT Sloan. Prior to MIT, I worked as a research assistant at the Federal Reserve, and before that, I did my BA in Mathematics and Economics at Vassar College.
My research focuses on the interaction of financial markets, labor markets, and innovation. Currently, I am studying how risk is shared between firms and workers and whether certain types of innovation create distortions in managerial incentives, leading to specific effort inducing contracts.
I teach an undergraduate investments class. We study the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), bond pricing, asset management, and much more.
Outside of academia, I am an avid literary fiction reader and writer. I have published a number of short stories, and I am working on more in my free time.
